Artists have a critical role in community. They help us share our stories and see things from a different perspective. These are the Rochester-area creatives whose work is featured in Kelly’s campaign for City Council. We’ll be expanding this list as the campaign continues.

Jackie McGriff is the owner of Jackie Photography and Co-founder, Director, and Producer of Our Voices Project. She’s a full-time portrait, editorial, and event photographer as well as a documentary filmmaker whose mission is to provide a safe space and platform for teens, women, and Black, Brown, and Indigenous people to embrace their bodies, live unapologetically, and share their stories.

Richard Colón is a Rochester NY based Street Photographer. Born and raised in the city, his main focus has been to capture the beauty of urban streets and architecture as well as views that most have rarely seen. He is the founder and curator of “Behind The Glass Gallery” located at the Mercantile on Main in Downtown Rochester. His goal is to showcase underrepresented artists who have never been part of a gallery, exhibition, and or have a minimal presence pertaining to their medium.
